Hi I have bought a drawing book for my daughters Christmas and it says mostly to use Bristol paper or board, vellum. Is there an alternative to this that is easier to obtain? I have seen Bristol board but only smooth on the net. Thanks Hazel.

Applying fixative - which is wet - is probably not a great idea. You might cause the very damage you're trying to avoid.
