THERE is a big bias on here over drawing .
Towards or against?
I don't understand your point. How can there be a bias in any direction...we are all individuals .
Wot?
In that it tends to receive fewer comments? Probably true - we are dominated by colour-fiends, you think? I think drawings don't get as many comments as full-colour work, but am less sure that equates to bias - however, expand. You might also mean that few of us actually show our drawings - and that would be generally true for me - one of those I did show, I inadvertently removed. I'll have a go at redressing that balance, anyway - hoping that when I can see better, drawing skills which seem to have decayed a bit will return to me.... http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
Two posts thus far, Russ; both contentious, and not a shred of evidence to support what you're saying in either. We're up for the debate; put your case.
I thought he meant the reverse. Drawings tend to get a lot of comments, compared to many finished paintings. Probably, because the comment writers admire drawing from the real thing. but who is to sy apart from the man himself.
Come on, russwilko..Elucidate please...What are you actually saying/ What do you mean? It is a very bald statement to make without backing it up.....It is great to have a forum member contributing, and I, along with others, I'm sure, am interested in what you have to say, but I can't follow your thread unless you expand your statement. I think you may have a point actually if you are implying that drawings are often considered less interesting than colour work, and less striking to view. Yes they may be, but they are an entirely different genre, quite specialised and with different qualities. Are graphic artists in the minority and mainly ignored......Is that your point? It would be good to have a reply from you. Cheers.
