Well done Carol, I like it and glad to have inspired it :)
I was just hoping this, as a symbolic painting, especially the last stanza, portrayed the melancholy feeling when daydreaming. Thank you both for leaving your lovely comments.
Carol, that's great! You have a good imagination.
Thank you so much, Margaret. I'm looking forward to seeing work by others on the words presented. I've written an acrostic poem ready for the next space available, after paintings on the poems that have been presented. Onwards and upwards :)

I am having a go at my own poem (not sure if that's how it was supposed to work) but I saw the girl yesterday and snapped a pic of us holding hands. I got some other photo's too but the light was terrible so not sure they will be any use to me. I will try the hands using pens but they are always tricky. Looking forwards to Carols poem too... I'd just post away ^^ life's too short to wait.

Mixed feelings on this one.
This is marvellous, Sylvia. A nice touch of humour with the little creatures he hunts gathering about him. I like the way you have the robin with its wings out stretched as it to suggest - Look everyone I've floored Ginger! Brill.
Nice one Sylvia - a fun one for Easter Sunday.
It's a great drawing - let's hope others take up the challenge.
Nice poem Ellen. On remembrance day they showed this photo of 5 soldiers...4 of whom were dead by the next day, and we had the moving stories and poetry...somehow this becomes more poignant to me every year, especially given at the time I was reading Solzhenitsyn and realising how close we are to repetition of all the same mistakes that we have made before. I also remember watching the TV series "When the boat comes in" which was set after WW1 with James Bolam (good series it was too) and it talks of soldiers drowning in the mud. Such a morbid subject, which brought out both the best and worst aspects of human behaviour is surely an obvious target for both art and poetry, I look forwards to seeing the art that your poem inspires Ellen.

Fabulous poem, EllenM. All through the era's there has been war. It's not a case of not learning it is in mans nature. If it was truly a matter of a subsistence living it would be understandable. If we don't get a grip on the human population, it soon will be. I also will look forward to the art work from this poem. I will partake after I post the response of Michael's poem.
Well, here we go. I've kept to my original thought of changing seasons. A quick watercolour sketch - winter gives way to spring. Thank you for the inspiration.
