Having taken some pictures when visiting Pembrokeshire they were relegated to the photo gallery along with others I took after stopping off at Solva. I one of the magazines I read an article urging the reader to be adventurous with colour pallet. Painted 2005 which Issue I can't remember. Take a picture and paint it/them in a pallet you wouldn't normally use and even an unusual colour for a mono chrome. Also use colour to create a different atmosphere. When having a tidy-up in my art cupboard I came across these paintings after taking this advice. I have grouped them together to prevent over posting. The top paintings are the Megalithic stones, Pembroke I chose atmosphere for them. The bottom two are at, Solva. A change of pallet for these. I wish I had written down what colours I had used. Some great advice I think. And still learning.

All this past talk of men's fashions - saw a lady in town today wearing a hat with a single flower in it - bit like the one worn by one of my gnome characters ! Now here did she buy that?
My very first teacher, Miss Morton, wore a hat with a single flower in it - mind you this was in 1956! Perhaps it is her spirit, or more frightening is the fact that it has come back in fashion.
Don't know Pat but if you listen to a lot of music nowadays, they seem to favour covers of the 60's songs. Also there seems to be no new ideas for films and they are even going to re-run some of the old tv classics. So I think all the best ideas have already been had!
Ah, I had forgotten this thread. You will all be happy to hear that I have found high-waisted trousers in the meantime, from Chums (dreadful website, mind) and Clifford James. Comfort is restored to my movements. This thread is about art, really it is. We didn't wander off track ....Well, you've got to be comfortable when you paint, after all. And films, to which reference has been made, are also art - in the right hands; occasionally. Old ideas recycled, though - they re-made The Ladykillers. WHY? It's like taking a shovel to a soufflé. http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
