I have had a great time browsing all the galleries and am amazed at the talent out there and the way that people document how they are improving. This set me thinking about how people are judging their own work and whether they have a specific goal in mind that, on reaching, they will feel that they have 'arrived' as an artist. For myself, I think I will feel that I am getting there if I can sit down to paint and know that my technique will not let me down. I say this as I often know exactly what I want something to look like, but struggle with the technique of achieving this. What is your goal, or do you think it is a mistake to have one?
