A friend just sent me a slide show of this artist's work. He paints solely children's portraits and his website states that he's the premier artist of paintings of children in the USA with commissions costingover $25000!

I really don't know what to make of these. Whilst I can see that his technique is extremely accurate and skilled, they leave me feeling quite disturbed ; somehow far too romanticised. I'm sure some parent would be delighted with such a romantic portrait of their child but as "art" I find them very disturbing.
I'd like other opinions or is it just me?
I'd far rather have something like the recent portrait by Max on here.
