Trying to explain the right and wrong to reproduce a work of art can be difficult.All work of art is protected 75 years starting after the death of the artist.Copying a work to learn was my perfect way to advance and comprehend colour mixing, composition etc...My great favourite artist at the time was Chardin.I copied faithfully "Le bénédicité" right to size. I would advice any learner to do something similar, it is a great sense of achievement before going solo !
