Hi, I've recently joined and thought I'd say hello. I've been having a look round and there's some wonderful work on this site. I'm retired (best job I've ever had), I've always drawn...starting with copying Desperate Dan as a kid. You've got it, I'm ancient. I love most forms of art, but illustration is at the top of my particular pops. Painting in cartoon style is mostly what I do...I don't mean a picture with a joke underneath...I'd say my style is cartoonish, that's all. I like it because you can get on with it without fussing too much about reference info. I do paint 'normal' stuff as well, whatever that is. A few years ago I joined an art group at my local U3A, this provided an enormous boost in my interest in all things art, and my own personal output. I hoping for more on that with this site...seeing what other people do and getting feedback and information is great. Hopefully.

Welcome - and yes, retirement has to be one of the more pleasing of occupations: especially if you're making good use of it, as you are.

Thanks very much for your splendid welcome. I've been looking through some of the forums, it all looks pretty useful and interesting. My brief experience on this site has already sparked something of interest to me, but I'm still very much the new boy here, so perhaps I'll wait a little longer before bringing it up. (By the way, at my age, it's great to be the NEW boy at something.)
