Hi, I realised I started posting in the gallery and Q&A thread without introducing myself - how rude!! I'm Lucy and I'm from Berkshire. I've enjoyed painting and art since I was a child, ending up at art college before having to get a 'proper' job. I put it on the back burner in my twenties for years as work just meant I did not have very much spare time at all. I am not working at the moment and have a huge cupboard full of art supplies I have bought over the years and never used (i am like a magpie in art stores) So far since in my restart I have tried; pen and ink, acrylics, and graphite with varying degrees of success - but it's fun giving it all a try. My aim is to hone my observational/drawing skills without loosing the movement and definition of brushstroke I tend to prefer. Anyway, hi everyone, I've been having a little browse through the gallery and forums and there are so many seriously talented people here, as well as supportive and encouraging. Thanks, Lucy.
Welcome, hope you'll be a frequent contributor to the Gallery and Forum.
Have you tried doing a quick drawing each day using an A5 or A6 sketchbook? I did it for a few years and my drawing and painting definitely improved?
Welcome to the party. Pull up a chair and grab yourself a beer
Good to have you in here Lucy. Great place to be.
Welcome....many a lovely person to be found here.
It's a great place to be, so welcome Lucy.
Thanks everyone. I'm sure I'll be posting often, and I will make sure to comment in the gallery. Lucy
I just realised that you might want to know my full name so you can find my work on the gallery, it's Lucy Gilmore. Not that any of you are obliged to go and look at them anyway! There's only two things at the moment in any case. Thanks Lucy
