I mostly make portraits, but I will do other stuff too. I work in charcoal, oil and watercolour. I do a portrait almost everyday either in charcoal or oils. I returned to making art last year after almost 30 years of not doing it.

Hi Tony and welcome To the forum! I started painting about 11 years ago  mainly watercolour but then drifted into acrylics. Unfortunately I lost my mojo for a few years when I developed Parkinson’s, but recently I have come back to it. Trying to improve my sketching and drawing at the moment ! Giving me lots of enjoyment again.. Look forward to seeing your work!
Welcome Tony. You have posted four good pieces straight away, so look forward to seeing more. I also had a long gap from painting and drawing, I think it’s quite a common theme here!

Hello,Tony, and welcome 😀 I had a big gap too, of about 25 years.. picked up the bug again about 10 years ago, and about a year and a half ago decided to make it officially a part-time income. (The other 'part-time' income being gardening, which, at the moment, is bloomin lovely in this weather!) I think the older we get, the less we care about chasing the career, and care more about actually enjoying our time.
Very good point Helen. I also think we bring a more mature outlook as we go through life and have more time to stop and look.

It was when I got cancer that I decided that I wanted to do it again. Near death experiences kinda reset everything :)
Certainly does Tony!
