To continue to work in the mediums I am most comfortable with and not feel that I need to be trying new things. To do what appeals to me and gives me the most satisfaction. To enjoy my art!
get out of the studio and do some landscape painting.
To continue travelling until I'm both broke and clapped out...all those digital images...all that art I might just get round to painting...before the final curtain.
I don't make new year's resolutions (so what are you doing on this thread, then?) - the pressure to keep them just unsettles me and makes me permanently crabby: I know this is impossible to conceive.  It's said the Vatican doesn't think in years, but in centuries.... well, I think in decades: if I had to re-order my priorities every year, I should go madder.  <div> </div><div>What's interested me about the poll, though, is how few people say they want to take a course, or painting holiday....  Which is rather what I should like to see on a forum like this: painters should spend more time painting, because you learn more by doing than you'll discover in most art courses, however good they may be.  A bit of inspiration now and then, a glimpse at how others approach a common enterprise - a nice read of an e-book, perhaps: not a hint, really it isn't - is probably the way to go if you're after a style of your own, rather than hoping to emulate someone else's.  </div><div> </div><div>Well, that's what I think: mind you, this could be at least partly because I'm too mean to go on art holidays or painting courses.</div>
Have done several Art Safari hols with Mary Anne Bartlett who is now a good friend.  i consider myself very lucky to have done them.  Zambia, Malawi , Namibia and Kenya.  all of them were just magic. Sadly cannot aford them these days. But if you can they really are amazing Just &quot;DO &quot; it .
sadly ,I could afford these Africam holidays but it would be the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest in my slippers. I would need to be accompanied by a doctor and a stretcher party the spirit is willing but the effort would be severely life threatening. any way I'd rather go to somewhere I ain't been ,like Rome but that too, would deadify me. Deep gloom........Syd PS I have no more territorial demands as Adolf the Hun said,,,, Syd ;-)
Er... this year, I quit my job on the first day back after new year. I'm working my notice period, so I'm not free yet... but I figure that makes me a full time artist. As well as full time mother. But I insist that I am only a part time housewife. I intend to try and make something approaching a profit from the art.
Hi Everyone, I will be running some workshops from my studio at home in Telford, Shropshire starting January 2015. Please feel free to contact me for any further information if interested. Many thanks, Anita
