Some time ago I got a cheap H-frame table easel from Lidl. You get what you pay for - it was cracked in a couple of places, and the four rubber feet weren't even, causing it to rock back and forward on a level surface. I got pretty tired of stuffing tissue paper under one of the feet to keep it reasonably steady, so yesterday I went and bought a Winsor & Newton Eden easel (same deal - H-frame table easel) at a few times the price of the first. As soon as I pulled it out of the box and put it on the table I saw it had the very same problem with uneven feet, with the same result if not worse. I'm fairly frustrated that a supposedly quality product from one of the biggest art material brands is pretty much as bad as what amounts to a cheap knock-off. It'll be a few days before I can take it back to try and exchange it, but my question is: would I be better off getting a refund? Have I just been unlucky with my first two H-frame easels, or is the wobble a common problem?
