The other day when Denise showed us her fabulous town hall painting,  she mentioned her set up. I thought it might be fun, or at least I would be interested in what other members use for a travel kit and en plain air. So I thought I'd kick it off with mine. Should add, it all fits in the case. Kipling box type pencil case. I adapted the pen holders to fit more. Moleskine pocket watercolour landscape. Various old short handled brushes. Nothing to precious.  Mechanical pencil, 2 uni pens, rubber, spare leads. Derwent Waterbrushes.  Cotman and sennelier watercolour stuck into old pencil tin. (New set up ready for my holiday) that's why it looks unused. Sports wrist band to wipe brushes.

Julie that looks like my set up and we both like Moleskine.  I rarely use a pencil as I draw with a brush so I don’t need a rubber either.    Please add your chocolate.
Goodness, thank you. I forgot the chocolate.  I don't always use pencil, preferring pen. But I like to have it there for the days I'm feeling less confident.
Great set up Julie. I packed all mine up in a small travel case on wheels this morning ready for my lesson tomorrow. I will take a photo when I unpack at the church and show you my field set up.
Yes please do Denise. I will look forward to seeing it. Hope you have a great lesson. Sylvia will be checking to make sure you have chocolate......you might have to share with the others!
Julie this is my box and tripod. I fitted it in a small travel case along with, rags, kitchen roll, turps, liquin. Variety of oil paints in the box. Disposable palette, oil primed paper, stained canvas, sketch pad and pencils. Small roll of waste disposal bags to take rubbish home. We spent time in the studio sketching and going through perspectives. We then had an hour at the church so this was a quick oil sketch I did in that time. I will work on it a bit more bringing in some depth and detail but I won't spend too much time on it.

Hi Denise. What a fabulous set up. Really neat isn't it. I hope your new bag was a success too. Church painting looks good as well. Looks an interesting  church. Looks like you had a fun day.
Denise I am very ignorant about oil painting. Last time I did any I was 14 and annoyed mother with the mess lol. How do you get the painting home. I'm presuming it's still wet. My mediums dry very quickly.
The tutor gave us a couple of tips on making something. I made this the other week. It works fine. Costs nothing. Cardboard with raised reinforced corners stuck on with gaffa tap. The wet painting sits comfortably in place with a bit of low tack tap either side for transporting home.
Now that's clever. X
Great tip, Denise, thanks for sharing.
