I'm just working on an off white piece of Ingres paper.  I have never been a great lover of Ingres paper; however, as I've been doing rather a lot of pastel work lately I thought I that with the extra experience I would become more tolerent of it.  Nah, I still think it's crap.  I find that where I want a good solid colour the thing has to be over worked.  Ah well, with that and the sheets om Murano paper I have left I expect I can use the backs for drawing, they're no good for pastel I've tried them, too smooth.  I may coat some with gesso and use for oils.My favourite pastelling surface is Clairefontaine pastel mat, light grey, or maize, followed by Sennellier pastel card, antique white, or their light grey.bestMick
