Is there anybody on the Forum who has tried to build a special surface to paint on ? In the March edition of Artist magazine, among the many very good articles, one has fascinated me : MUSES ON STONE - the artist Maureen Fain is working in oils on a ground of powdered stone on plywood. For my part I am always trying to find a way for a smooth surface when I work in Oil, but when I work in Acrylic I am often in search of an exceptional find for surface. Example I have in the past tried and build up gesso and stuck on top some grinded stone, seeds (poppy) anything that I thought would make my painting interesting. (I have not been always successful!) What about you ?
