What exactly is the difference between gallery wrapped canvas and regular stretched canvas? I thought that the only difference is that gallery wrapped canvas is stapled at the back and not the sides, but my local art store was advertising their own brand of canvas, one was labeled "gallery wrapped" while the other was "premium canvas" both were stapled at the back but the wooden stretcher bars on the gallery wrapped canvas was thicker. So does gallery wrapped canvas have to have wooden stretchers a certain thickness in order to be considered "gallery wrapped"?
