I really think it's time I bought a new easel - I've had my beechwood sketching easel for over 45 years, and it's still doing excellent service; but it always was a bit on the lightweight side and I could do with a more substantial bit of furniture which doesn't move about so much, and which I don't have to leap to rescue from an unfortunate sideways movement now and then (I'll never get rid of it, though: my parents bought it for me so it has a sentimental as well as a practical value). <div>
</div><div>I'm looking for a solid, traditional easel which doesn't take up too much room, but is stable, and can take small canvases/boards of say 5" by 7", up to the biggest size I work with, which would be in the region of 30" by 60" at the outside. </div><div>
</div><div>I know there's a lot of choice online, but personal recommendation means much more than sales pitch: so if you've any ideas, do pass them on. </div><div>
</div><div>The money to pay for it would be nice, too, of course .... but we're not expecting miracles.</div>
