On a ferry from Jersey to Guernsey I noticed two tourists sitting on the cold and also wet seats on the deck. Before they sat down they each unfolded a thickish plastic mat and sat on that.
I was able to find out from an outdoors sport shop that these could be bought for as little as £2.99.
Now with the help of this insulating mat I can sit outside on a slatted seat wet or dry or even a section of concrete without discomfort or getting cold. It is very light and easily fits into my painting rucsack.
I pass this tip on for the help of the those with a sensitive fundament and a good help for those attempting long outside sketches.
