I first spotted this book at the Nat Gallery.  Have just taken delivery as I splashed out on it.  A hardback, with about 260 pages.  It doesn't only show an analysis of the pigment colours often used by the great Artists, but goes into some detail about them and their materials.  It well referenced and sourced...I am very pleased with it. (Also bought a hardback on the Hermitage collection, as I doubt I'll ever get there now)
This is exciting Norrette and thanks for bringing it to our attention. Just from the pictures you have shown, I thought Egon Schiele palette was rather interesting. I decided to have a quick read about him, not a very nice man by all accounts but certainly a great artist. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to put this book down.
Just watched a youtube video about this book - thanks Norette! I’ll definitely be buying it.
I like the part in the introduction referencing Kandinsky where he discusses 'colour as an expressive rather than imitative tool' It will stop me trying to capture an exact replica of what I'm looking at, in terms of colour as well as form. (it is available online about £10 less than the cover price) I love it.

My copy is coming today, I ordered it online. Looking forward to it!
Right then - reaching for the wallet, that's the new Jethro Tull album (probably their last, their lead is even older than I am), this book, and I've just ordered a couple of ACF canvases - if I never spent on my enthusiasms, and obviously didn't eat or drink, I'd be a wealthy man.........
Robert,  I cant make any comment on the book, but I certainly enjoyed the new Jethro Tull album.  “ Curious Ruminate” as a long standing Tull fan, it was nice to hear some new material. It’s was well worth the outlay.  I preferred it to his last offering of Nordic folk music.
