I regularly attend a music art workshop here in Suffolk as I find listening to the classical music in the morning helps me relax and loosen up plus after lunch break time we tend to sing along when it comes to the music of the 60's and 70's .. It was whilst at one workshop I aske my tutor if she new of any books that would be of help with painting the sea as I was painting a seascape of Cullen in Scotland using acrylics she did suggest a book but when I searched on the internet it was out of print but I could purchase it from collectors but it cost well over £100....Errrrr that's a bit much :'( My tutor then suggested I try Roy Lang's book called Sea & Sky in Oils as you could use the same techniques with using acrylic retarder to help blend the colours , As I am a member of the SAA I checked their site out and I brought the book and a DVD for under £20, I have watched the DVD and it's really good I am now working through the book and I can't praise it enough, so with some small canvas boards I shall be attempting to produce some attempts at waves, sea spray etc before I go to the large canvas... A very good book and DVD... (lol) Phil
