The other day, I received a copy of Pratim's book - it was a horrible, grey, wet day but the paintings made all that irrelevant.  The book contains Pratim's paintings of birds from all over the world - it's a self-publishing venture, and a labour of love; the economics of these things most certainly won't make you a rich man - but I'm not urging people to buy it in order to help out one of our own POL members, but because it's fascinating and a worthy addition to your library.  Because my cheque slightly exceeded the book price, Pratim also sent me one of his beautiful original watercolours - something I'm very pleased to have, and will frame.<div> </div><div>Pratim Das deserves a wider audience - an agent, and someone to promote his book and paintings; the printing of the pictures is as good as it can be given the price - the register of some of the paintings doesn't do the work full justice -  but he deserves a fine edition, a world-wide publisher, and proper promotion.  This is a great talent - and it needs to be discovered by someone who can get behind it and promote it.  </div><div> </div><div>His Facebook page title is - Birds the real buddy; take a look there: he has a page under his name as well, but I found it wasn't so easy to find any links to his book page.  If you're interested in birds, and in watercolour painting, you'll find this well worth buying; I bought mine as a birthday present to myself.  Of course, you can see samples of his paintings, as he posts on POL - but the cumulative impact in book form is even better.  </div><div> </div><div>I recommend it highly - and if there is anyone out there who could help him find a publisher or promotion or both in Europe and the USA, that would be wonderful.  How about The Artists Publishing Company taking him up?  </div>
