OK, this isn't a dvd, nor yet a book, but this heading is so weakly populated that I thought I'd put this link here to avoid derailing other threads - including that fascinating one inviting us to identify a couple of paintings which has enthused Syd so much (muffled chortle...). IF, and probably only if, you are an oil painting geek, this is a fascinating podcast of 1 hour and a half duration - it gets irritating sometimes as the two younger men talk over their much more knowledgeable guest, but there are also amusing bits and a LOT of useful information from George O'Hanlon, of the US company Natural Pigments. I only wish we had more people in this country with his depth of knowledge and willingness to share it (and of course there's a certain amount of self-interest there too, in that he makes his own paint, but you take that as read). http://www.suggesteddonationpodcast.com/blog/2014/5/13/episode-5 Have a watch if the long-term viability of your painting is important to you - it covers the different whites, supports, priming, mediums: just about everything that people ask questions about.
Sounds exciting Robert. I agree - we don't want to detract from anything that my mate Syd has been so involved in!!😀 And now I am going to retreat very quickly.
Hee hee.
