Our daughter is to be married in 3 weeks and organsing the whole thing herself, her chap doesn't move much. Amongst other more materialistic stuff she has asked me to contibute a board for each guest to place their thumbprint (TB) and name on - new idea I understand. She sent me some internet designs having found the idea on the web which were tree shapes but mere drawings but I have put my own print on the occasion by creating this work on a 70 x 50cms board which I will get framed for them. She has bought inks to be used for the TBs which are in 6 colours and guests can pick their choice and anoint the tree anywhere they want to. She is as I used to be - a control freak and wants me to tone down the colours especially the blue as she thinks the TBs in various colours will not stand out sufficiently. I have left enough white spaces, there are 60 guests and even if they place their TBs on a branch it will stand out - I believe! I aim to do this soon as I don't want to upset her, but I think she is wrong. Any thoughts? Should I and what toning down?
Thats great Derek . its a lovely wacky tree to suit a very wacky ritual . lots of stained thumbs . What fun. Syd
What a lovely idea Derek.
What a great idea. I wonder if it'll catch on. Your board is perfect mate; it has all the right amount of fun factor to go with the day.
Thanks Donna and Alan. It will be toned down or a new version today. Feminism rules in that case
Thanks Marjorie. I know the new version will be a washout, but hey! it's her day.
Thanks David, hopefully I will achieve that later. It's their stag and hen days today and am only sorry I can't keep up with these youngsters in stamina and capacity, the stags that is, so on top of the painting duty I am also standin duty driver later.
Here is the latest - no the final version. My photography skills are bad I know, but the background is actully white with the slightest pale green broken wash
A novel idea Derek, but I don't think I would want to be dressed in my finery with a stained thumb! Another great idea is for her to do it!! Having a control freak daughter, can you ever please them?
<div>p.s I have a control freak daughter and a son who doesn't care a tozzle!</div>
Cheers Adele, the stained fingers are their problem - and hers. I have mentioned it.
Thanks Ellen the first is gone
