Does anyone know if I can use texture paste on top of acrylic - and then paint over it again? I want to liven up a slightly dull acrylic painting on canvas.
I would think you could Diana because they are usually water based. I'm pretty sure I've done it myself, acrylic takes just about anything on top, unlike oil, which would repel anything water based.
Well that was interesting - I'd typed a reply, back-spaced to edit a letter, and the whole post disappeared... Anyway! Yes - you can apply texture paste over existing layers of paint: if you've varnished it, just rough up the surface slightly, that's all - just to be on the safe side.
Thanks both of you. I'll give it a go.
