Anyone watching "landscape artist of the year" on sky arts next week?????
Haven't got Sky - poor man here, you see: need to sell a few more paintings............
Will be but have put it on series record just in caseI miss any, should be good hopefully.
Sounds like a good excuse to hit the "series record" button
If it's who I think you mean, the competition should retire now and come out with their hands up. I sometimes despair of Facebook, and feel myself being sucked into a swamp of nutcases, but it does enable me to keep up with AA (just to keep the not very mysterious mystery going) and other artists throughout the world - I wish they'd stay here, though, because fighting one's way through piles of political poo and cutesy pictures of pussy-cats and "funny" dogs induces a horrible feeling of nameless dread. Facebook isn't troubled by spam, because it IS spam. So do come back, Ad..... whoops; ignore that slip .... and bring the others with you.
I'm intrigued, but clueless. I don't have sky either.
Tonights programme was a bit of a disappointment It didn't hold my attention as it did last week. Some very weird stuff, well one especially and as usual I beg to differ on the judges choice. The format last year for Portrait artist and the one for Artist was , in my opinion better the artists were eliminated on a programme to programme basis and it was good to see the progress of individuals and to get to know them , these are just individual heats and personalities just don't emerge.
I think it's a good programme, I've seen both episodes. The producers have been unlucky in that they've filmed in Spring. The weather's been gloomy and rainy with thick cloud cover. This makes the painting harder because there's no shadows to emphasise the forms. I thought the winner last night, an American woman, had painted an unusual and striking painting. Besides the main contestants, about 8 in each programme, another 50, mainly amateurs are invited and each week one is picked to go through to a heat later in the series. So there's lots of involvement by artists at various levels.
Can we see it any other way if not having Sky?
Sky doesn't allow its content to be seen by anyone who doesn't subscribe - and as Murdoch owns it, I won't be subscribing no matter what it shows.
Thanks thought so, I'm with you Robert
PaintersOnline regular David Douglas is on tonight's show - make sure you watch if you can!
