I've just mistakenly bought two tubes of Mixing white rather than the Titanium I wanted. Serves me right for delving into the bargain bin! It seems pretty awful....is it any use or should I just chuck them away?

Noooooooooo don't chuck it it's incredibly useful.  Just order your Titanium white on line.
What do I use if for Sylvia? Presumably mixing!!  I've got plenty of Titanium, I just couldn't resist what I thought was a bargain and one white tube looks much like another.
Yes mixing for instance a lighter tone to something you are using ...eg greens in leaves add a bit to alter the tonal  value.   Also I've just used it to do a back ground for a large acrylic mixed a blue with it and it acts like a gesso....well I think so ,someone will probably dis agree.  Have a play.  If not I will buy it off you ., Note...read labels.....

Thanks - I'll have a play around with it and see what happens. Labels......easily missed.......!!
I have a mistakenly bought tube of that too…. I don’t even like it for mixing with!
Noooooooo Helen.it's great.   Having just replied to Peter and painting my thuggy  kids I have it on my palette and it's used frequently....dark blue...want pale blue, add mixing white.   I use Titanium for highlights . Offered to,take Peters off him.make the same offer to you.   Go, go play.
Sounds like an offer we can't refuse Helen!
I mean it...though I might pay you with a Sams Tale ....I assume you know that my dog wrote a book?
Presumably a shaggy dog story! I'm going to use it, I might even find I like it.
No, he dictated in dog to me....I just illustrated it.
Sorry Sylvia - I was about to say that you can have it for nowt, but I can’t actually find it… it probably got thrown out in the last annual art room shuffle / tidy up session! I use galleria titanium white for mixing, and liquitex heavy body titanium white for highlights. (Acrylics)
