Yes Dudley Zoo again . I did this sketch from my own photographs. Once you are comfortable handling them acrylics are easy to use. The quick drying properties allow you to overpaint. at will. I roughed the birds in by making marks directly onto acid free mountboard. The right hand bird has some drawn detail. Can't remember if I used a rigger or a Pentel Brush Pen. Dear John Blockley used acrylic on mountboard a lot in his late work. Usually a full size sheet often with the paint poured on or worked with a 2in brush. His late works were landscapes tending towards the abstract. He liked System 3. Got carried away a bit my small sketch is a bit of an anti climax.
