They arrived lunchtime... very first impression. This may be more of interest to the Watercolour Artists but posted here as Acrylic. Had a play on watercolour paper to get used to the mixes and then used exactly as watercolour with watercolour techniques on a small 20inch gessoed square canvas . Used my normal enamel plate pallet with paints dolloped around the rim. No special spray to keep damp, The paint texture is very like Maimeri slight glycerin feel. As I wanted to see how far the paints can simulate watercolour used solely with water no mediums will be interesting to see how much binder remains as the paint was in places thinned to the barest hint of colour. Worked for two hours drawing with a brush and sponge felt no need to keep in water no problems with drying out. Paints lifted/wiped out and seemed so like watercolour there was no feeling of anything different. The plate has been covered with another overnight exactly as I would with watercolour paints. The brush and sponge cleaned with water as usual. One possible advantage is the first quick marks made are often the liveliest and best part of a painting, and often disappear at the next stage whereas now they can be fixed permanently with a hair dryer during painting, or left overnight to set as I have here. Should make later changes to large wash areas far easier. The rather abstract first stage gives some idea of the paints look, wondering how it will work tomorrow.
