This latest painting has given me a lot of pleasure and I am quite pleased with the result. However your comments would be much appreciated. I have tried to take on board some of your previous comments, for instance there are no tubed greens in this painting and I have tried to tone things down. Cheers, Steve
Love it.
A smashing piece of work, Grampy. Vibrant, and you have created a lovely illusion of distance with the foreground shadow.
It's super Grampy I'd love to go for a ride on that train. You have done well with the greens.

Can only agree with the others - and your greens are looking much more natural now; I expect you'll have noticed how much warmer they are, too; tube greens have their place, but nearly always need to be mixed with another colour. The train is better than I could do, I think - I'm not going to try, just to prove myself right..... you've got the subtle sheen of the metal just right, and I do like that composition. You're right to be pleased with this one! http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
Thank you all for your kind comments they are very much appreciated. Thanks, Steve
Great stuff, Grampy. It is so atmospheric and you have mastered the colours and tone brilliantly. Seeing the steam engine also brings back wonderful memories for me.
