I enjoy painting buildings and the Cotswolds are full of buildings with character, along with the rich Cotswold stone. It is easy to find something to paint.
Grampy, I am your fan. I love how neat, clean and colourful all is. I wonder if you are now wondering why didn´t you pick up the brush sooner ;-).
That's something a lot of ask of ourselves EBla. Seems such a waste doesn't it. This looks good Grampy - how long does each painting take to do?
Hello EBla/Adele, Thanks for your kind comments. This painting took me about five evenings over the period of a week. I am happy with the result in general apart from the roof line that juts out. I painted this from a photograph but that bit hasn't translated to the painting.right. I suppose that is where a good artist would know what to leave out. I will learn I feel sure. Thanks again, Grampy
Thank you Sylvia, yes I will.
Grumpy, I don't think there is ever a time when we think we have learnt it all. Some artists will put their paintings on the gallery so that others can admire their work -nothing wrong with that. Others, myself included, like some feedback, whether it is complimentary or advisory because we like to learn. I think that POL is a great site for that.
Adele - Grampy might be Grumpy if you call him Grumpy not Grampy... I think I know what that means ...... http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
Oh my goodness - I didn't notice. Thank you for pointing that out Robert. Grampy, my sincere apologies for the slip-up. Must have been thinking of my dear hubby who is known to the granddaughters and "Gramps" and I call him "Grumpy Grampy" - so sorry.
Adele, Please do not worry yourself, I didn't even notice your selling. I get called Grumpy all the time. My little Evelyn calls me Grampy and everybody else calls me Grumpy. My name is Steve but I won't tell you what my wife calls me. I will answer to most names, Except Wednesdays when I'm Shirley. Cheers, Steve
I'm dying of curiosity but am a bit too scared to ask what happens on a Wednesday Shirley (sorry Steve)?
Shirley eh ? Perhaps you'd care to give me a call next Wednesday - just ask for Letitia.
This is surreal Michael!
