I would be pleased to hear about the experiences of anyone who has used Atelier Interactive Acrylics. I am used to ordinary acrylics and most other media, but so far I am finding Atelier Interactive rather disappointing. Yes it does remain workable for a long time - possibly too long and the couple of mediums do what they are supposed to do. There are three main problems that bother me.
1) There is great emphasis on spraying the painting with water but when this is done, large droplets which the sprayer throws at the surface along with water mist, form dots of a lighter colour which remain and of course ruin the work.
2) Unlike oil paint or ordinary acrylic, Atelier too easily lifts what has already been painted. I do not find it easy to blend colour or cover up paint. What happens is that you are left with what ever was the colour of the board or canvas.
3) I experimented with Atelier some six weeks ago trying the techniques that are supposed to make it a revoluntary new paint. That paint now feels dry to touch but a damp brush will lift off the paint or at best, lighten the area. I therefore don't consider this to be sufficiently durable to frame without glass.
So far I am not impressed and would be pleased to hear from anyone who is delighted with Atelier and can offer any guidance. I shall perservere further - but perhaps not for long.
John :-(
