I am a 65 year old grandpa who last September , without any prior instruction or training, decided to have a go at painting. So I borrowed my daughter's paints and I shocked all my family and especially myself with the results. This was my first attempt with acrylics on canvas. Feedback would be very much appreciated.

Thank you all for your kind remarks. I do wonder if I have set the bar too high for my first canvas. I don't seem to be able to match it. I love painting and can't stop, my wife is falling over all my work, I love putting paint on canvas and enjoy watching a picture progress and develop whilst I work on it, but they all seem to fall short of the finish I am looking for. Is this normal or should I just enjoy and if a good one comes along, then good.
Regarding different mediums, I started using acrylic so as to have more control over white, I was told to try Alkyd Oils but as I work from our dining room table I found these to be too messing. Acrylic is so much more user friendly within my restricted working environment.
Thank you all again, I will post more of my work and your comments, good or bad would be very much appreciated.
Cheers, Steve
