PERFECT TIMING FOR SUMMER EXHIBITION AT THE OSBORNE STUDIO GALLERY FROM JULY 10 UNTIL AUGUST 31 2012 ‘MOVEMENT IN SPORT AND OUR GREAT METROPOLIS’ - PAINTINGS OF INDIVIDUAL SPORTS, AND LONDON SCENES BY SIX ARTISTS (Mao Wen Biao, Terence Gilbert, Sarah Maclean, Natalia Avdeeva, Amanda Ward Thomas and David Harvey) Most important is MAO WEN BIAO (BORN IN SHANGHAI 1950) PAINTER OF SPEED, MASTER OF MURALS Mao first studied fine art in Beijing, later at the Royal College of Art in London. He has won acclaim for vast murals, combining monumental scale with meticulous attention to detail. The RAC Club in Pall Mall commissioned a painting from Mao to celebrate their centenary year in 1997, featuring three hundred of their members, and measuring 138 feet long. Mao’s work is often inspired by speed: the excitement and dynamism and drama of Formula One. In this latest exhibition works include the Olympic sports of cycling, canoeing and sailing. Cricket also newsworthy with the forthcoming Test Series. The sporting theme of the exhibition continues with studies by DAVID HARVEY and AMANDA WARD THOMAS tackling a whole range of sports from runners to gymnasts. London is a favourite subject for TERENCE GILBERT, SARAH MACLEAN and NATALIA AVDEEVA, we attach images of St Paul’s and a view towards the Olympic Stadium.
