J. Colt has been painting for all his adult life, exhibiting his work throughout the Midlands, South East and London in numerous solo and group shows as well as large-scale public installations. His latest series 'Two Sides of the City' seeks to capture the perceived dual personality of the capital. Serene and picturesque by day, the nostalgia of London's monuments, landmarks and tourist hotspots are transformed into bustling, effervescent scenes by night. This exhibition will showcase 9 of his latest paintings, each of them created within 24 hours of his visit to each of the locations. 'It's no secret that life in London is fast-paced, so to have any chance of harnessing that in a painting, you have to work fast too. The feelings I try to capture are transient...
