DUNDAS STREET GALLERY, EDINBURGH FEBRUARY 12-19 Different Strokes Three artists, whose work is new to Edinburgh’s art scene, have come together for their first joint exhibition entitled ‘Different Strokes’ at the Dundas Street Gallery. The three artists have very different styles and the name was coined to reflect the artists’ individual approaches to painting. Colin Joyce paints in a variety of media and feeds off his love of travel for subject matter. Landscapes and streetscenes predominate his subject matter. Ken Young, a watercolourist with a taste for cityscapes and architecture, describes himself as a realist, with a tight, controlled style. Pete Dimmock, also a watercolour painter, depicts people and places with a warm, colourful and humorous approach. All three have regularly sold their paintings for several years. Each enjoys painting places they know and love. Collectively, they aimed to bring unity to the exhibition through consistency in subject matter. Mediterranean and Scottish scenes will predominate.
