BODY WORLDS 4, The Original Exhibition of Real Human Bodies at the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI), Manchester, is hosting two special Artists' Nights on the 22nd and 29th July. The events, in association with the Institute of Medical Illustrators, will afford aspiring and accomplished artists, anatomy students and lovers of art history a rare opportunity to study and sketch the complex human anatomy with visual references to nude models and Plastinates. Conceived as the ultimate Life Drawing class, the sessions will feature male and female nude models striking poses similar to the BODY WORLDS 4 Plastinates. Facilitated by a professional tutor, attendees will have the unparalleled opportunity to celebrate and sketch the human form while taking their visual cues from both an internal and external anatomical perspective. Commenting on the Artists' Nights, Tony Hill, Acting Director MOSI said: 'Figure drawing has enjoyed a Renaissance of sorts in recent years, and we have been inundated with requests from visitors to draw and sketch the Plastinates. Introducing the live nude model element will serve to enhance participants' anatomical knowledge, drawing skills and level of creativity. With just five weeks to go until the exhibition closes on 17th August this is the best opportunity that visitors will get to sketch the exhibits at close range.' Anne Murtagh, joint North West regional representative for the Institute of Medical Illustrators, added 'This is a unique opportunity to visit the BODY WORLDS exhibition and practise sketching with full tutor support at a time when the space is closed to the general public'.
