"My first pieces of artwork were tonal drawings using charcoal….I just loved the effects. In those days I just used charcoal ‘dry’…I did not know you could use water with it! Nowadays I love playing with the Derwent XL Charcoal Blocks; dry to make thick and thin marks and wet to get some dynamic effects….and playing with all the Derwent products is exactly what I am going to do next week in black and white and colour, at the Pencil Museum in Cumbria. I will also be using the new Graphik pens. As Artist in Residence I will have fun sharing my ideas and techniques. Do please share this poster to any on your friends who might like to come along.
