Stephen Gosling

Biography

I currently live in Strensall, which is part of Outer York, UK. Up until July 2023 we had lived in Walsall in the West Midlands. At school my two best subjects were Art and Technical Drawing. On leaving school I went into mechanical engineering, which at certain stages involved drawing office work, at the beginning, on large drawing boards and in later years on computers, so I tended to be very precise when sketching. During this time I became very interested in photography which became my main interest. After being retired for three years I decided to take up watercolour and pen and wash painting, usually from photographs that I had previously taken.
