Biography

After a long career in design I went back to painting in 2013 after a thirty year gap. This was prompted by an Open Exhibition called 20 x 20 put on in my local town, Northwich, by an organisation called Visual Arts Cheshire, (VAC). That got me started after buying some oils and small canvases from The Works just down the road. They put up two pieces of mine which was just the encouragement that I needed. Since then I have exhibited several times in events that VAC have organised and also have had works selected by The National Exhibition of Wildlife Art (NEWA) in the 2014 and 2015 exhibitions. Also the open exhibitions of The ArtWork Studio in Northwich, the Boatyard Art Space in Middlewich and the Castle Park Art Centre Open exhibition in Frodsham. Whilst I am interested in Wildlife Art and have joined the Association of Animal Artists, landscape, both urban and country, is another area that I appreciate. I enjoy photography and mainly to paint from pictures that I have taken locally and during holidays, although I intend to venture into Plein Air in the future
