Muriel Bolger

Biography

I took up painting nine years ag, when I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. I am a journalist and writer and was noticing my notes had become totally illegible and I had a tremor in my hand. The writing has got worse, but I can do a very good straight line with a brush, I like to work in watercolour and have not yet found a preferred subject matter. I've attended workshops with Grahame Booth, John Hoar and Keiko Tanabe. I had a painting selected for inclusion in the Biennial Open Exhibition the Lexicon, Dun Laoghaire, Co, Dublin and have had some commissions too.
