Mike Lord

Biography

I started painting in 2018 at the grand old age of 53, when I attended a local oil painting class. It was lockdown that really started me off, as I was unable to work. I had my first solo exhibition in 2022, exhibiting at Cedar Farm in Lancashire and have had an annual exhibition every year since at various locations. My latest was at Create Bolton, my biggest so far, which ran for 2 months. I have also had pictures in Blackburn Art Gallery and Clitheroe Contemporary Arts Festival, plus I have attended Skipton Art In The Pen. All my work is for sale. I paint a mixture of landscape and narrative works, usually based on or inspired by local scenes. I currently live on the moors above Darwen, which is a new and great inspiration.
