Lauretta Milligan

Biography

A little about me I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and have lived with my family in England since 1999, after living in Hong Kong for ten years. I started painting in watercolours in Hong Kong under Steven Thomas and continued painting in watercolours in England. I have successfully completed the City and Guilds Watercolours Diploma course at Missenden Abbey, with the guidance of Diana Stonehouse. I now paint with the Studley Green Art Group on a weekly basis. I find the medium of watercolours exciting – the results are always different. I also enjoy experimenting in mixed media and specifically acrylics. I like painting in vibrant colours with topics such as flowers and landscapes, and more recently animals such as elephants, returning to my African roots. I have exhibited and sold my work locally including Longwick, Chinnor and Wendover art shows, and for the last couple of years I have participated in the Bucks Open Studios firstly at Bigmore Farm, Cadmore End, and recently at St Nicholas Church, Kingsey. All Original watercolours, acrylics and mixed media paintings are available to purchase and commissions are accepted by the artist. https://www.laurettamilligan.com/
