John S. Smith
I have been painting since 1992 when my career as a lecturer in the chemistry department at the University of Hertfordshire came to an early end. My preferred medium is oils but from time to time I use acrylics, watercolours, pastels and I draw in charcoal. I am a member of the Hertford Art Society which is a truly marvellous group of talented people. I never cease to be amazed at the quality and variety of the work that appears at the monthly critiques. I strongly recommend that anyone living in the area should join it. I am a frequent visitor to exhibitions in London as it is only a short train journey away. I am always willing to sell my work.
