Biography

Plymouth Watercolour Society covers the whole of the city of Plymouth and environs. It was founded in 1985, and currently has about 50 members. The club puts on two Exhibitions every year and holds a full day workshop once every month. There are a variety of artists represented, some beginners, some competent amateurs and a few professionals. The requirement for "pure" watercolour has been relaxed in recent years and other water-based media are now accepted, including acrylics, gouache, ink, pen and wash as well as traditional watercolour. This makes for a wonderful variety of work produced by our members.
