Sabbi Gavrailov

Sabbi Gavrailov is a self-taught artist from Bulgaria who lives and works in the United Kingdom. He originates from the town of Brezovo which is also the birthplace of two iconic Bulgarian artists: Zlatyu Boyadzhiev and Mincho Katsarov. Sabbi relates to Zlatyu Boyadziev through his great grandfather who was Zlatyu’s close cousin. He strongly believes his talent comes from the roots of the family. There are striking similarities found between the landscape painting style of Sabbi Gavrailov and Zlatyu Boyadzhiev. Sabbi now actively participates in the local Art Communities in Hertfordshire, UK and exhibits and participates in local and national art events. He paints in oils as the main medium and is sought for his still-life works, portraits and landscapes often depicting the busy city life. Sabbi uses mainly his own sketches and photography to create his paintings and often takes part in open studios events and can be seen demonstrating his style of work Alla prima style. His works are in private collections in The United Kingdom, The Middle East, and Bulgaria.
