Biography

I originally trained as a Botanist and after various careers became a professional artist 20 years ago. I specialise in the watercolour medium. I love sketching outside and mainly do pen and wash. I lived between North Wales and our home in South West France, teaching, running courses and exhibiting in both countries for about 16 years. I’m now ‘retired’ from any teaching, with grandmother duties taking over a lot of my life! and live in South Devon. For a number of years I was a regular contributor to ‘Leisure Painter’, and this included my husband and I writing a series of 12 articles, from watercolour and drawing for beginners to more advanced work. Both of us taught at the NEC for Leisure Painter back in 2012. I have also been a consultant for Reeves. We were guest tutors for many years for the Fred Olsen and Saga cruise lines and travelled to many parts of the World, sketching and painting in such diverse regions as the Artic, the deserts of Namibia and the Tropics. I have work in the Bangor University collection and also selected for the Royal Cambrian Academy Open a few years ago. I exhibited and sold many paintings in the National Trust gallery at Castell Penrhyn over many years and at various fine art galleries, including in France.
