Biography

I was born in Oxford, and have always enjoyed living in the countryside and watching the local wildlife. I've been painting and sketching for relatively few years really. I'm self taught, but have studied numerous artists' books, as well as watching as many painting DVD's I can get my hands on. Speaking objectively, my Mother, who is Spanish, has considerable talent and drew ballerinas in ink, and flowers on black card, with my Grandfather's paintings in his home town in Spain, selling very well locally. I have always loved drawing and have done so for many years; but now I find myself more drawn towards watercolour, particularly animals; initially photographing the subjects that I paint. Consequently, I usually have my camera with me when I'm out and about, to capture anything that catches my eye. I do like to use various media and like experimenting with cling film, salt and various tools I find around the house or in the garden. I'm not sure if I've found my style yet, but I do love colour and try to work loosely, though this doesn't always go to plan. I spent many years in rural France, and being so close to nature and it's inhabitants was very inspirational. Now that I'm happily living in Worcestershire in the UK again, I'll continue to paint and present new work, which hopefully, will be approved of as much over here, as it was in France.
