Biography

As a scientist at school, I was not allowed to study art! Having two arty daughters who arrived sometime later, also put me off even trying. A friend suggested beginner art classes locally, she said the tutor Judi Trevorrow was incredibly encouraging - so that is where I began, January 2018! I chose water colour to specialise in as I had a batch of paints and brushes inherited from my gran which were moved from house to house - unused! So I have started with Granny's paints, but adding to them now and especially better brushes. My results are beginning to please me. I am really enjoying the projects in Leisure Painter, and now I get withdrawal symptoms if I have not been drawing or sketching recently. It is making me observe the world more closely and often I am taking photos with the idea of turning them into a painting. My girls are being very encouraging too, which is lovely.
