Biography

I have retired from my career as an Engineer and Educator. I took up painting at the end of 2016 and with the support of an excellent art group and mentor, I have been working on developing my skills. I started off in Acrylics, painting mostly Transport related topics (marine art in particular) and moved on to portraiture more or less by accident. I have been working in oils for the last 6 months and really enjoy the medium. I have set up a small business, really just to cover the costs of my hobby, but also to produce paintings that are not going to fill up my spare room! The self portrait is in the style of Stanley Spencer, I am not usually that miserable.
