Andrew Lucas

Biography

I was born and grew up in the city of Salisbury, England and from a young age had always been interested in art and drawing. In my late teens I began painting watercolour, and over time developed a love and respect for the medium. Working through the difficulties that watercolour presented, I became very comfortable with the medium, resulting in what my portfolio is today. In 2003 I held my first solo exhibition titled " The Inspirational world " in the Portico Gallery in Salisbury. Later that year I relocated to Devon where I still live and work today. Since then, I have held several solo and collective exhibitions, which includes a major solo international exhibition of work. I have shared my work with several UK and international art and cultural publications, with work also being commissioned for a childrens book and a medical teaching publication. These have all offered additional avenues in which to share the work, and explore other possibilities. I continue to create new work and collections of various subjects and locations, with the aim of sharing my work on the UK and international stage. I hope to continue to evoke real emotion through my drawings and paintings, and to allow a glimpse of how I see the world around us.
